These are valid complaints. We've definitely dropped the ball, and have other priorities right now. I hardly have any time for this anymore and it's a particularly busy time for me lately.
That said, we are still working on a big patch that addresses at least some of your concerns. We've also been discussing ideas for extensions to the event system that address requests many of you have made. For example, we're considering events that would be race-specific or exclude Etherkins, as well as events that would have gear / level / asc limits to provide more variety and competition for non-OG players. I'm not sure when any of this will be ready, but we haven't completely abandoned you all.
This hardly makes enough money to support the costs of it now, and certainly not enough for us to be working on this for the money. We do it out of a love of the game and for the community that has stuck with us this long. Consider this primarily a volunteer venture on our parts and try to be patient as best you can.

We're working on diagnosing the root cause. It's a lower level memory compaction process that is causing the lag. We keep fixing potential causes but so far none have fully resolved it. We're continuing to collect more info and monitor the situation.

I can certainly think of reasons why there should be balance in games if possible, e.g. so PvP is more interesting and there's a greater diversity in characters. Do you have an argument for why things should remain imbalanced (if they truly are) other than "this is the way it is" or "this is what the real world is like"? There's also no magic in the real world but that doesn't mean we should remove mages from MD, right?
I'm open to hearing arguments from both sides but your reasoning doesn't make sense to me. If you're going to argue a position, give some actual reasons.

The prizes would be proportionally lower, but there would be more complex rewards and rankings based on how you performed over multiple events and against other players depending on each of your skill levels.

News / Automated PvP Event Schedule Change

To create a more varied overall PvP event schedule that gives everyone a chance to participate regardless of their work / life schedules, we've changed the scheduling strategy for our automated PvP events. Rather than taking place 4 times per day at fixed times, PvP events now happen 7 hours after the previous event. This means that throughout the week, the specific times events occur will change from one day to the next.
Pay attention to the site countdowns and ingame / Discord notifications. And of course, you can always type .events ingame to see the upcoming event schedule.
We're considering a more frequent, nearly continuous event system that would allow players to continually challenge eachother in ranked PvP events with prizes and bragging rights. Let us know your thoughts on this frequency in the new poll.

We recently added our own Discord bot which, among other things, relays ingame chat to Discord in #ingame-chat. Currently common chat is mirrored, but there are mixed opinions on this.
As a side note, you can also link your ingame account using .linkaccount which will enable mirroring of PMs from all of your characters and more to come.
