Multi-client Limit

We are reinstituting the limit of 3 online characters per person starting sometime on Monday, July 22.

This limit will be strictly enforced using a new automated enforcement system. If you have more than 3 characters online at the same time, you will receive warning messages on all of your characters notifying you that you have exceeded the limit of 3. If you do not disconnect characters such that you are below the limit of 3, the server will disconnect the most recently logged in characters until you go below the limit of 3.

This system is operating in "warn only" mode, for now, You will receive the warnings described above, but your characters will not start being kicked until Monday, July 22. If you believe you are receiving inaccurate warnings or notice any other issues with this new system, please let me know in this post or on Discord.

This should help keep things fairer between players who have the ability to run many clients and those who do not and is a great new addition to the many systems we already have in place to ensure greater fairness than any other server.

Sorry you feel that way. This change was a highly requested one by many players, particularly newer players.

While I'm sure having 10 accounts online farming is used by some players to collect items to give away to newbies, the majority simply use it to build up more and more resources for themselves which keeps increasing the gap between OG players and newbies as well as those who can run 10 clients and those who can't.

Overall this will bring greater fairness and balance. As with all of our updates, it's not necessarily set it stone. If it proves more negative than positive, it will be undone, but so far overall feedback is largely positive.

Exactly how long have you been playing MD? Up until the last year or so, it has always been 3 accounts logged in at a time. They have already stated why they opened it up to more than 3 at a time. Did you really think this was going to be permanent? Game and community will still be here, even if you aren't. Oh no, whatever will they do without you?!?!    Byeeee
